Firebird Theatre begins work on a new piece of storytelling with the working title of Firebird is 25. We hope to produce this work for audiences at the beginning of next year, 2017.
This work has been made possible through funding from Arts Council England's Grants for the Arts Programme, www.artscouncil.org.uk, as well as support from private donations and other Trusts.
At Bristol Old Vic's 250th Birthday celebrations on 30th May 2016, Firebird showcased three pieces of work in progress alongside extracts from productions of the last 25 years.
The following film is of work in progress for Firebird is 25: 'A Spark of Imagination', from the performance at Bristol Old Vic.
Frank Spencer, Redweather Productions, used a fixed camera to record the whole performance for Firebird's personal use; he has allowed us to use this link so that others can watch the performance in its entirety.

Firebird Theatre is a Company of sixteen disabled actors. We are experienced, disabled performers/actors with a consistent track record and history of making plays and performances together for over twenty years. We used to be called the Portway Players but we changed our name to Firebird Theatre when we became an independent Company in 2005.
We want to share as much as possible with people about who we are, how we work and what theatre means to us.
Please use this website to find out more about our productions, our workshops & what we stand for.
Firebird Theatre is proud to be an Associate Company of Bristol Old Vic and to have Olivier Award winner, Kathryn Hunter, as its patron.
